Teen Exchanges Gunshots With Early Morning Intruder, Sending Him Fleeing

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY — (2 minutes read) Early Tuesday morning, a reported home invasion on Lake Morris Road led to an exchange of gunfire, according to the Christian County Sheriff’s Office. The incident unfolded when a teenager, awakened by unusual noises in his home, armed himself with a firearm to investigate. He encountered an intruder, leading to both parties exchanging gunfire, prompting the suspect to flee the scene.

Christian County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, Chris Miller, stated that while the suspect remains unidentified, several shots were fired during the incident. Thankfully, there have been no injuries reported.

Authorities are now seeking assistance from the public. Anyone who may have seen unusual activity, such as an unknown vehicle or individual in the area, is urged to contact Detective Sgt. Justin Meacham at the Christian County Sheriff’s Office by calling 270-887-4141 or the non-emergency dispatch number at 270-890-1300.
